I am drawn to LEAD’s approach to training and mentoring, which empowers organisations and communities to respond to complex social and environmental challenges. I am especially excited about contributing to this work on the lands I still call home.

Community Development Practitioner
Manager, Family Outreach Service
Men’s Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC), Broome, Western Australia

I am a passionate community development practitioner committed to the principles of community-led development and meaningful engagement. My work focuses on facilitating approaches that support communities to strengthen their own capacity, build agency, and lead solutions to the social issues that affect them.

I strongly believe in the enduring principle that knowledge is power. When communities have access to knowledge, resources, and relevant information, their capacity for growth and self-determination expands exponentially. I am driven by the belief that people create the most meaningful and sustainable change when they are supported to lead their own development journeys.

I have extensive experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across regional and remote Australia. My work is grounded in respect, collaboration, and cultural humility. I am particularly passionate about co-developing innovative programs within intercultural contexts and designing practical ways to measure and understand the impact these programs have on communities.

I am drawn to LEAD’s approach to training and mentoring, which empowers organisations and communities to respond to complex social and environmental challenges. I am especially excited about contributing to this work on the lands I still call home.

My cultural heritage is East African. I was born in Tanzania, grew up in Mombasa, Kenya, and spent time living in Uganda, where my parents are from. I currently live and work in Rubibi (Broome), Western Australia, on the lands of the Yawuru and Djukun peoples.
