“The solution is often already within the team—I just help shift the perspective and provide a sharper lens.”
As the Senior Trainer for Analysis, my role is focused on building internal analytic capacity—enabling conservation organisations to integrate problem analysis and crime prevention into field operations. I work across all levels and departments of an organisation to find long-term solutions that are focused, data-driven, and evidence-based.
The core of my work is skillset development in areas like foundational problem solving to break down and understand conservation challenges, GIS and spatial or temporal analysis of crime, assessing impact and learning from what we do, and refining information-led operations. It requires working with our partners to break down knowledge silos, integrate efforts between teams, and support them in writing up case studies to create a body of evidence about ‘what works’.
I am most proud when I can be a facilitator or catalyst in finding simple solutions to complex problems through a change in perspective. The solution is often already within the teams and individuals. I will never know the unique challenges they face as well as they do—but if I can spark a different way of thinking and provide toolsets that sharpen focus, the pieces of the puzzle come together on their own. I started as a ranger in field operations, so I especially enjoy when I get the opportunity to work with frontline teams, bringing them new best practices that might not often be associated with that role.
A lot of what I do is rooted in, or aligned with, the truly great work of Dr Andrew Lemieux. The unique touch I bring to my work is a certain balance—leaning on my practical experience when teaching theoretical concepts. I aim to blend what is new with what is trusted, staying right on the edge of very different approaches to find where they meet. I use familiar tones and a deep understanding of the teams I work with to help facilitate my role as a pathway for knowledge.
I was born in the bush and homeschooled. By the time I left home, I had lived in twenty-eight places—none too glamorous. My background is firmly based in the field. All to say, not the conventional route to where I’m at. That is my strength: not looking at the world conventionally.
“I aim to blend what is new with what is trusted, staying right on the edge of very different approaches to find where they meet.”

These partners focus on innovation and long-term growth, helping to evolve the ITR framework and supporting its continuous improvement. They work on creating new tools, training modules, and strategies to enhance ITR effectiveness.
These partners are responsible for the practical application of the ITR framework on the ground. They work directly with local teams to roll out and integrate ITR strategies into daily operations.
These organisations provide expertise, research, and insights that help shape and refine the Integrated Threat Reduction (ITR) framework. They play a critical role in developing strategies and sharing best practices.
Support partners assist with resources, funding, logistics, and additional services that complement the ITR rollout. They help ensure smooth operations and fill gaps that may arise during implementation.
